October 10-13 Montalcino Winemakers Boot Camp Blending Escape

Immerse yourself in the world of winemaking with our exclusive master class in the captivating Tuscan region of Montalcino. Join us as we dive deep into the art of crafting exceptional wines alongside esteemed partners like Roberto Cipresso, Cupano, and Casanova di Neri. Gain direct access to their wealth of knowledge, tasting and learning from brilliant winemakers while avoiding the tourist's Tuscany. Experience the authentic Tuscan culture, savoring the regal Brunello wines and creating lifelong memories. This is your opportunity to embark on a wine-filled journey and unlock the secrets of Montalcino, perfect for those passionate about the intricacies of winemaking.

**This is a Vines themed Experience: Winemakers Only

We have specially designed this Experience to be a more advanced winemaking “boot camp”, for those who really want to take their winemaking to the next level. We will take a deeper dive into how wine is made and the art of blending, focusing also on tasting techniques and sensory understanding of wine through its flavors and aromas. Because of this hands-on educational focus, participants must commit to making a barrel with one of our Montalcino partners in order to attend.

Winemaking

Here, members have the luxury of choosing between two masterful winemakers to make their blend – or making it with both! Will you create an exciting Brunello di Montalcino from a blend of Cupano’s old and young Sangiovese vines, or a Sangiovese-based Super Tuscan red with expert blender Roberto Cipresso? Either way, your personal blend will contain a souvenir of your unforgettable experience among Montalcino’s rolling hills.

Accommodations

La Bandita Townhouse, a chic and luxurious 12-room hotel right in the historic center of the jewel box village of Pienza – the perfect stylish base from which to explore the region. The building is a rambling renaissance-era palazzo where nuns have lived for over 500 years, and the hotel’s restaurant is renowned for its fresh seasonal food.

Daily Itinerary

Day 1 | Arrivals. Get oriented with a tasting of several of the region’s best, then dine on La Bandita chef David Mangan’s creative locally sourced cooking. We’ll be joined by a local winemaker who will take us through her stunning lineup of wines.

Day 2 | This morning you’ll be immersed in the art of Tuscan blending, with our partner Roberto Cipresso, who will guide you through your own Super Tuscan blend. After a tasting and lunch at one of Montalcino’s most renowned wineries Casanova di Neri, you’ll have time for an afternoon hike or a tour of the beautiful Pienza church.  We will meet for an aperitivo on the famous Pienza wall, then dine together at a local trattoria, joined by one of our favorite local winemakers.

Day 3 | Blending Brunello with one of the true greats of the region, Cupano, will be nothing short of unforgettable. We will follow that up with a tasting and a long table lunch at Sesti, ending the day with dinner at local restaurant Chiostro.

Day 4 | Optional cooking or ceramic making classes, and departures.
